Conventional Fire Suppression
Inerting
Lowering the oxygen level below that which will support combustion but will still support life
- Argonite (IG55)
- Argon
- Nitrogen
- Inergen
Co2 can be utilised with built in safety precautions, but is normally used for unmanned areas.
Low Pressure agents
Chemical reaction to flame
- FM200 (HFC 227ea)
- Novec1230
These systems do not require the amount of agent as the inerting gasses, therefore less cylinders to take up valuable space.
Water Mist
Extinguishing fire by reduction of the flame temperature to a level where the combustion radical chain reactions cannot be sustained and also cooling of burning materials and potential fuel sources to below ignition temperatures.
The use of water as a fine mist from stand alone systems provides a highly efficient means of fire protection requiring considerably less agent than is associated with traditional deluge and spray systems.
DetExt F/F (Local Application/Spot Protection)
Detecting & Extinguishing fire at source
- FM200 (HFC 227ea)
- Novec 1230
- FE36 & FE28
- Dry Powder
- AFFF Foam
- Co2
- Supponification Fluids
