CCTV systems in certain areas have had damage to the COAX cable and PCB’s, by overheating, therefore to minimise this damage, Firetrace Co2 systems have been designed and installed to create an inert atmosphere to prevent fire, and a cooling affect to minimise damage. In an actual fire situation in August 2003, the damage was limited to distortion of the PCB box lid and a .5 amp power supply which was susceptible to damage by heat. Changing the power supply unit allowed full operation of the camera.
